Amandine Verstappen has overcome number of battles in 2019 WMX season, from winning Opening Round at Valkenswaard in March, to being caught up in crashed riders at hole-shot, to working #274 through the field and finishing WMX Round 4 Race 2 in 3rd place.

Notwithstanding the challenges thrown Amandine’s way, what stands out is the courage and determination that the 2019 French Women MX Champion has displayed coming from right back in field to right up-front by end of race.

As Amandine explains: ‘One girl crashed on me in Race 1 at the start so I crashed as well. I was last but my riding was smooth and I finished P6 only 1 sec behind p5. Result was ok after a crash at start’.

‘Second race, I took a bad start but like Saturday I was really confident on the track. After 10 mins I was 4th, close to top 3. I had fastest lap of the race during 10 first minutes’.

I made the pass for P3 finishing close to first 2 riders. 6-3 for 4th overall- I’m bit disappointed because no luck in Race 1 at the start which meant, maybe I missed the podium again…’.

Without a doubt, Amandine has the mental capacity to mix it up with front-racers, has bike-skills to win on both hard-pack as witnessed in winnng 2019 French Women MX Championship and sand as seen winning WMX Opening Round at Valkenswaard.

With WMX Final Round looming, Amandine will be committed to gaining podium spot- a sweet victory for the battled Belgium. And, all the more reason to maintain race-game given #274 has been chosen to represent her country in Motocross of European of Nations Women’s class in Poland on October 5th- 6th.

#274: ‘For the Final Round my goal is to be on the podium because already it has been 2 GP’s that I have missed the podium’.
