MX Euro’s EMX 125cc will race the Final Round at a newly developed ‘double status’ venue combining MXGP Championship Round Netherlands at Motorcycling Road-Racing TT Circuit at Assen, August 29th, 30th.

The collaborative initiative involves building a MXGP track at the infamous World Motorcycling venue whereby one thousand truck-loads of sand will be brought in from near-by Defence to form the GP track.

Reference by the organiser’s state: ‘”the start and finish of MXGP Assen will partially run across the permanent Road-Racing track. The first turn corner will be in front of the GT Grandstand, the next series of corners run between the main Grandstand and the permanent pit complex then into the permanent paddock area of the TT circuit”’.

The naturally flat and sandy base will be transformed into a ‘challenging Motocross circuit on a Motorcycle venue’ with undulating, elevations testing MXGP and MX Euro riders.

This unique project combining two different World Motorsport disciplines within one facility, albeit building a MXGP track over ‘”crowned asphalt”’ has the potential to set precedence on where future MXGP Rounds are raced.
