The following 2 weeks I will travel to Europe, witness a MXGP MX Euro for the first time ever, watching NZ’s Josiah Natzke take on the one point difference to the Overall EMX 125cc Championship Series.

Having spent the best part of the last 10 years working in the sport from mowing/weed-eating track-side to Starter 10/5 to Journalist print then online website to Film and TV, the trip offers further opportunity to develop my work based in NZ and overseas.

In what could be argued as the one and only sport in NZ whereby feeder businesses and industry generate income from the sport, Motocross not only offers ROI (return of investment) for Manufacturers but also provides all people involved in the sport a shared passion, interest and enjoyment at all levels.

Riders, their families, friends, support crew to clubs and all the volunteers, to National and International MX organizations collectively come together to share what Motocross means and brings to all.

Promotion and exposure of the sport increases awareness to mainstream public raising the sports profile as one of the most physically demanding sports requiring technical skills, highest level of fitness and mental tenacity. Not to mention the deep satisfaction when goals are achieved boosting confidence, self-esteem and pride.

skyspeedlogoMedia promotion from print to online websites, to Film and TV Networks in NZ has ultimately broadened the scope of getting the sport out there. The trip to MXGP MX Euro Final Round at Assen will add extra mileage for show-casing NZ Motocross riders doing it overseas.

Online, TVOne and Sky Speed will have up-dates through-out my trip in Belgium and the Netherlands.

My thanks to KTM NZ, KTM Austria, Pirelli, Youthstream, Chris Ritchie with Filming, TVOne Sports Producer Andy Hay, Sky Speed Producer Chris Herd, Tony Cooksley and Dick Koers for their support.
