Entering new era of 3rd generation of Everts family racing World MX Championship GP’s, Stefan shares his thoughts on having son Liam take his first GP Overall win in EMX 125cc class at Matterley Basin earlier this year.

With special bond formed between Harry and Stefan through-out his racing career, now time has travelled full circle with Stefan and Liam forging equally special moments on and off track.

Stefan speaks openly on how hard-won learning experiences racing for best part of 20 years strengthened his resilience of character to face challenges through-out racing and within life in general.

At a time when enjoyment of what Stefan had achieved, with records unbeaten to present day, Stefan describes what it has been like struck down with Malaria at end of 2018, forcing massive change of life’s circumstances then and well into the future.

When speaking to Stefan on huge recovery process that he has already been through, and it’s not finished yet, it is humbling to hear such welcoming thoughts on how Stefan makes small steps of progress.

There is no thought of defeat, no sense of giving in to the possibility of being unable to move with relative less pain, and no glimpse of bitterness of ‘why me?’ Hard to put into words – Stefan’s forward thinking even in times of upheaval- not just for himself and family but the world at large today.

Turning his focus on Liam’s racing has been welcomed distraction- from what he realizes will be on going challenges with recovery from Malaria for the rest of his life. And, Liam has plenty to surprise his father.

The 15 year old not only pulled off his first career GP Overall win at MXGP Opening Round in Great Britain 2020, but re-set the dial on repeat of history as Stefan had achieved final career victory at same track venue winning both motos at 2006 MXoN.

And, we all remember that win.

My gratitude to Stefan for his time, sharing his thoughts to all watching. MXLink Live broadcast edited film below.
