Racing Dirt to Road Episode 2 Team Rees racing Motul Oil 6 Hour Race

Racing Dirt to Road filmed Episode 2 on Team Rees racing Motul Oil 6 Hour Endurance Race at Hampton Downs, October 16th 2016.

Filming Team Rees: Tony and sons Mitch and Damon with Vicki and support crew was an exceptional opportunity to tell the story of a family racing as a Team, proud and passionate to race competitively at the pointy end of the table and totally embracing the experience on what it means to ‘work hard, play hard’ as a family unit.

The commitment to work as a Team, not defined by age or gender, giving credit equally to all involved was evident right from the start of the day and never faltered throughout the day’s racing under conditions which change over 6 hours on the track.

It is hard to play down the sincerity that Team Rees embody- as Vicki puts it ‘this is just what we do’.

But there is more to it than that. This is a family whose belief is work hard to enjoy what you want to achieve. To work hard to stay together, to celebrate not just winning but the ability to live life on the experiences that are memorable for years to come.

It was an honour to film Team Rees racing Motul Oil 6 Hour Endurance Race at Hampton Downs run by Auckland Motorcycle club.

It was in awe, that I witnessed Tony Rees race 50 minutes in his first track session at average speed of 248km/p/h which he stated was a bit slow but I had to save tyre wear’.

It was a privilege to film in the Teams pit set-up, so professional, so in sync with each other and committed to everyone’s success.

And it was icing on the cake to see Tony stand side by side with his 2 sons Mitch and Damon accepting the Prize Trophy for winning- not to mention the 301 laps the Team put in over 6 hours.

If anyone wants to know what makes a family tick, play and stay together- this story is it!
