Racing consistent lap-times, Amandine thwarted her peers in the deep sands of Valkenswaard, which not only highlights #274 contention for WMX Championship Title, but also ramps expectations that the Belgium rider will be ready to pounce on any mistakes made by WMX full-gate line-up in following Rounds.

Within the 7 week break, Amandine has focused on gaining as much race-time as possible, competing in the Women French Championship, currently leading the Series by 28 points. Training on hard-pack and sand, Amandine has put in all important preparation for racing remaining 4 WMX Rounds.

#274: ‘We have trained on hard pack but also on sand a little bit. I had 2 Rounds of Women French Championship on hard pack, and am leading the Championship by 28 points’.

With Women MX World Championship buffer of 1 point from 2nd Overall Nancy van de Ven, and 3rd placed Larissa Papenmeier 3 points behind, nailing valuable table standings in up-coming WMX Round 2 at MXGP of Portugal this weekend will be top priority for all Women.

With following WMX Rounds all hard-pack: Loket in July, Imola in August and Final WMX in Turkey, September 8th, Verstappen will remain fiercely competitive to retain points lead and the Red Plate.

#274: ‘My focus for WMX Round 2 will be to keep my Red Plate and if I lose it I will be back stronger in the next round in Loket to take it back. But yeah main goal is to keep my Red Plate’.

Given level of committment, determination, and fighting spirit Amandine shows on and off track, WMX Series has all potential to keep Riders, fans, friends and family watching in suspense on what will go down come racing. A must see for this weekend at Agueda, Portugal.
